So it is nice to hear that the bus connection from langmusi to songpan via zoige is now open to foreigners. What about going more south to chengdou? Is the road okay and public buses do this connection?

I am an English teacher in Zhongshan, China. 5 of us are planning on flying to Chengdu the first week of October and then taking a bus through Songpan to Langmusi. Will trekking/traveling be available at this time? If so, can we book a 2 or 3 day horse trek for 5 during this week? What dates would work best?

Hi, I'm Dutch but living in France, would like to trek (horse and walk) in the Langmusi area. I will be in China in the first 2 weeks of September 2008. Is there any chance that the region will be open by that time? If not can you please explain me what part of Gansu and Sichuan are closed and give some information on parts of Sichuan where one can go (after the big earthquake) without causing even extra problems to the people living there? I am interested to take one of your trekking tour, I can go from Chengdu at May 10th. And whatever the itinerary will be, I must get back to Chengdu before 14th. But it will be better if there's another group that I can hop into (it will be cheaper for me and them, and better for you). Is there any chance I can do that? Thanks.

Thank you for your quick reply. I've just seen on the some website that the permissions to enter tibetian areas of foreigners was postponed indefinitely. Is this information true? Is there no way to go to langmusi in may? I've already bought the air tickets to chengdu to only go to langmusi.TT I wish I could go there.

Is entering to Langmusi for foreigners allowed now? I've seen in the newspaper that china government doesn't allow foreigners to enter Tibetian areas as well as Tibet itself. I have a plan to go there in mid of May.

Hi, I am with my wife is going to langmusi to have horse trekking for 2-3 days (grassland). We have no much time so need your advice to make a plan. We are flying from urumqi on August 10, 2007 to langzhou with morning flight. We are palnning to take the latest bus to Xiahe (14.30) and look around there. We are keen to join your horse trekking on the next day. So probably will take taxi early in the morning to langmusi. Is it possible? Where can we meet someone to hire taxi in xiahe? how much? Is it possible to directly join your trip? I am keen to take a 3 days trip rather than the 2 days. So if we can not join as we planned, it seems that we could join only for 2 days trip. we (couple with son of 6 1/2, living in Beijing) plan to travel from Xining to Chengdu over langmusi in August. May be we want to drive our own Jeep - so my 1st question: Will there be 97 fuell abvailable on that road or only 93? - 2nd: we would like to try horse trekking, but what about our son? he can't ride - anyone to assist him? Found your website in the Lonely Planet guide. There are three of us, 1 American and 2 Chinese. We are trying to choose between horse trekking adventures 2, 3 & 4 Red Stone, Experience Nomadlife, Pass Gehesu Grassland. My friends have never ridden horses before and are a little concerned. About how much time is in the saddle for each of the three trips I mentioned.? Very cool website.

Hi, my wife and I are looking to travel through Langmusi from Xiahe to Songpan in late June, 2007. We are interested in some horsetreks, particularly to see nomadic Tibetan life, including sheep shearing, if it's not too late. However, my wife will be three months pregnant, so we will be avoiding higher altitudes, preferring to stay less than 3000meters. What options can you recommend? You mentioned on your website that it's possible to hire a taxi from Langmusi to Jiuzhai Gou directly. How much is that? I'm a solo traveller so I think that may be a small problem in terms of costs, but I thought I'd ask. I'm actually in Lijiang. Will travell to Yunnan and Sichuan to the Northern Sichuan.I'm travelling bymyself. I would like to do the Pass Gehesu Grassland - 3 days trek (or the Climbing Mt Huagai if possible). I can arrive in Langmusi for the 2nd of May. Hello there, Finally found a way to talk to langmusi :D In fact we were 5 guys who stayed at langmusi hotel in august 2005 and we really liked the people there a lot, but infortunately we lost the contacts everyone gave us during the rest of our travels. They nicknamed us niamaka and lingwo maybe they remember us. I want to send the photos we took with them and the cute lili. So if you have the address of the langmusi hotel it would be so great !! So we could mail those photos directly to them. Thank you so much And everyone who is reading this, we traveled for one month in north china and langmusi is simply the place we prefered, superb sceneries, nicest people, and beautiful festival at the temple !!!

We came in May. Our guide was Calsong and we slept in his hotel. We made a trekk for one day with you (we went and saw nomads). You told us that you put the moovies of this day on the web, but perhaps it is too late now. We were fortee adults. I don't remember exactly the date (it was between 15 an 20 may). Hi, some peoples in Beijing told me, that there is a nice tibetan style Cafe and Restaurant in Langmusi where you can eat good Tibetan food and some german special from the mountin and real Italien espresso. The peoples are supposed to be very friendly and sometimes Talo, the owner sings Tibetan songs. They told me, the name is Talo and Friend's Restaurant. Do you know aboutit?
