Climb Mt. Huagai & Ocean of Flowers Pass
- 3 Day Trail (Summer)

Day 1

We set out from Langmusi at 10 a.m. along the White Dragon River and have lunch at its spring. After lunch we continue trekking and by 4 pm, reach the foot of Mt. Huagai, a vast grassland where sheep and yaks graze. On this night, we will sleep in a yak hair tent with local people.

We will ride for approximately 3.5 hours today.

After arriving at camp, we take the halter and saddle off the horses and learn how to make a fire with yak dung as well as how to use a special Tibetan herding tool called a “pe.” We join our host family in driving the animals home and tying the yaks up for the night.

Day 2

In early morning, the nomads are busy with their routine: milking, collecting yak dung, churning butter, etc. If you like you can experience and partake in these activities for yourself.

You need to be skillfull for milking

We will return back to camp to have lunch. After lunch, we will leave for the 'Ocean of Flowers'. When we arrive there will be a camp and tents at 'Red Stone Forest,' where we will stay with one of the local families. Today we will ride for approximately 2 hours.

We can walk to the 'Gehesu Mountains' this afternoon or the next morning, according to our arrival time. It is a half hour walk (30 minutes) from the Red Stone Forest to the Gehesu Mountains.
